Carbon Footprint Scope 123

Our carbon footprint

At the end of 2024, Van de Velde Packaging completed its first full carbon footprint for FY2023, covering all three scopes, following the GHG protocol. This baseline year sets the foundation for tracking progress over time. We finalized our second footprint for FY2024, providing valuable insights to guide the next steps in reducing emissions across our operations and supply chain.

For Scope 3, 10 out of 15 categories were relevant to our business. Following categories are considered not relevant:  6. Upstream leased assets, 10. Processing of sold products, 13. Downstream leased assets, 14. Franchises, 15. Investments

Our two largest scope 3 emission categories sources are: 1. Purchased goods and services and 12. End-of-life treatment of sold products both representing individually more than 35% of our total emissions.
These are followed by transportation (~10%).
