Van de Velde Packaging Group Announces the Sale of Unipap and Welcomes New CEO, Hakan Bayman
Wetteren, 25/09/2025 - Van de Velde Packaging Group announces a significant strategic milestone in its journey towards sustainable growth and future-focused leadership. The Group has signed an agreement for the sale of its subsidiary Unipap to a Czech-based private equity investor.
This decision follows a careful review of the Group's portfolio and aligns with its strategic focus on strengthening synergies across product portfolio, geographic presence, and customer base. While Unipap has demonstrated strong potential as a standalone business, the opportunities for integration within the Group are more limited. The transaction will therefore provide Unipap with a stronger platform for future growth under new ownership, while enabling Van de Velde Packaging Group to concentrate its resources and investments where they can deliver the greatest value.
For colleagues at Unipap, the transition will be carried out in close collaboration with the new owner to ensure continuity and a respectful handover. For all other teams across Van de Velde Packaging Group, operations will continue as usual, with a reinforced focus on profitability, performance, and long-term value creation.
At the same time, Van de Velde Packaging Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Hakan Bayman as its new Chief Executive Officer. With extensive international leadership experience and a proven track record in guiding organizations through transformation and growth, Hakan brings a fresh perspective and ambitious vision to the Group.
His appointment marks an important step in shaping the future of Van de Velde Packaging, as the company continues its mission to pioneer sustainable, high-performance packaging solutions.
